PapIon - Membranes for electrochemistry based on paper and ionic liquids

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The transformation of the energy sector towards sustainable solutions involves technologies that are relying on membranes, e.g. fuel cells or flow-batteries. These membranes are key components, consisting of expensive high-performance materials. The project PapIon is exploring a novel membrane technology, a composite material made from paper and polymerized ionic liquids.
