ReColour - Efficient colouring of films in cinema quality based on novel methods of machine learning

Colorization is the process of adding color information to monochrome images. Colorized versions of balck-and-white images or videos create a unique impression. The project targets to overcome this limitation. Objectives: Analysis of different and novel artificial intelligence-based approaches in the domain of automated colorization. Implementation of the most efficient approach in a protoype application and generation of a sufficient powerful collection of training samples. Verification of the implementation to support human-guided control to obtain authentic and appropriate color schemes.
