Description

Modelling of road and rail-based transport networks with Graphical Geoinformation Systems (GIS) and proprietory models to reflect travel demand and the supply of travel opportunities. Models are being applied to learn about future mobility patterns and needs for daily repititve trips as well as occasional long distance trips. Commercial transport planning software (VISUM) is being enhanced by developments conducted at the institute to link short-term traffic management with long-term static demand models. Travel surveys are being conducted to calibrate and validate the travel demand models
