Tunnel ventilation

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Design of Ventilation of a road tunnel is dependent on the air quality inside the tunnel (carbon monoxide and visibility). A second parameter is the incident case (fire). Emission factors for fresh air demand calculations as well as design figures for safety are a focal point of research within the traffic and environment group of the institute. Fire tests in tunnels and field tests of fire fighting and supressing systems are also included within the work of this unit.
