ViCity - A Virtual Regional City Center

Project: Research project

Project Details

The lockdown had an enormous social impact. New challenges in collaboration and communication arose. Many residents suffered from psychological stress due to a lack of exchange and employment as well as isolation. However, children and young people in particular were able to benefit from social interaction in video games, so the WHO even recommends playing more. For many residents, however, access to video games is alien to them and other platforms for immersive exchange are not known. In the ViCity project, we want to create a virtual regional city center/museum to facilitate exchange, virtual school trips, a platform for the arts, or presentations by regional companies. This platform uses methods of video game creation, but uses them in a non-gaming context to make the medium available to the broad masses for social activities.
