Wood Based Components and Building Construction R&D

Project: Research area

Project Details

Description

R & D of innovative wood components, timber constructions and multi-storey buildings has been a field of work for more than 20 years. From the first low-energy detached houses with solar energy supply in the early nineties over the first three- and four-storey wooden buildings in Styria, the first five-storey timber construction in Vienna at the beginning of 2000, the first modular buildings up to the highest hybrid timber skyscraper in Vienna with 24 storeys We successfully support numerous developments in timber construction. In addition, the development of innovative materials was accompanied scientifically in terms of building physics: KLH, CLP, Kielsteg, Thomaholz and Freewood. Numerous projects also concerned individual aspects in timber construction. Already at the beginning of this millennium, a guide detail catalog was developed, which forms the basis for the Dataholz database.
