Abstract

Organogermanium hydrides, especially the aryl-substituted derivatives, have recently gained higher interest because of their applicability as precursors in the preparation of oligo- and polygermanes, or volatile compounds in the deposition of thin films in microelectronics. Besides the synthesis of arylgermanium hydrides, the main emphasis of this chapter is given to structural aspects as well as the 1H- and 73Ge NMR properties of such derivatives, as well as some selected applications.
