Abstract

This study has the objective of investigating the determinant factors that impact the intention of users to continue using Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). To achieve this objective, the study employs two widely used models, namely the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Task-Technology Fit (TTF) models, to examine technology acceptance and utilization. The significance of this study lies in its ability to provide empirical evidence regarding the factors that are likely to influence users’ intention to continue using MOOCs. The study involved a sample of 294 participants from Indonesia who have already utilized MOOCs. The findings of the study demonstrate that the integration of the TTF model for utility and TAM for technology acceptance offers a more comprehensive understanding of users’ behavior in the context of this study. Specifically, the attitude (ATT) variable is found to be the most significant factor influencing the intention to continue using MOOCs. Surprisingly, the variables of Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness do not have a significant impact on users’ intention to continue using MOOCs. The TTF and Social Motivation variables, on the other hand, do have an influence on Perceived Usefulness, while the feature of MOOCs has an impact on Perceived Ease of Use. These findings have both theoretical and practical implications for researchers, developers, and practitioners in the field of MOOCs.
