Importancia de los edificios inteligentes para el medio ambiente

Urban development has become a priority for the growth of cities around the planet, since the construction of new homes and workplaces is a necessity in all countries. However, the construction industry generates large environmental impacts, which is why restructuring and modernization is necessary in the development of housing and buildings, in order to work towards the creation of sustainable cities and communities. For this, different smart technologies and materials are already being applied around the world in infrastructure and the construction of real estate. In this order of ideas, this work explores the different existing alternatives for sustainable development, such as the use of biodegradable and recycled construction materials, the incorporation of green roofs, energy self-efficiency, low energy consumption architecture and the use of smart windows. Its application in Mexico is still very scarce or isolated, so there is a great opportunity for growth for the implementation and use of existing sustainable technologies, as well as for the development of sustainable construction alternatives.
