Abstract
This paper provides an overview of multimedia systems used in education. The
advantages and disadvantages of multimedia systems for educational purposes are presented. In addition, multimedia applications used in virtual teaching and software for keeping pedagogical records are shown. The paper also contains an empirical study conducted among high school and university students that shows their evaluations of distance learning.
