Abstract

In the global energy transition, Combined-Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT) operation is crucial. This paper emphasizes accurate CCGT operational constraint modeling within Colombia’s unit-commitment framework. Heuristic models used for dispatch often miss essential operational constraints, whereas academic models capture basic ones but omit real-life nuances. Addressing these gaps ensures equipment longevity, reduces costs, and reaffirms the significance of CCGTs in the energy shift.
