Project Details

Description

Fault tolerance is an important aspect in safety-critical embedded real-time systems. Robustness and maintenance are desired attributes. Techniques, like fault injection, are necessary for validating such fault tolerant systems. The goal of this work is the development of a fault tolerant architecture, based on dynamically reconfigurable FPGAs. Main features of this architecture are the capability for fault injection, fault detection and diagnosis based on built-in-self-tests. Dynamic reconfiguration management and support of diverse algorithms for fault recovery are additional characteristics of this architecture.
