In the project «Forbach» the existing Schwarzenbach-power plant, of the Rudolf-Fettweis-plant, in Forbach will be modernized by using a new lower stage and by expanding the plant by an upper stage at Seekopf. Thus the Schwarzenbach-power plant, with a capacity of 43 MW, will be replaced by a cavern-power plant, with a capacity of 50 MW. 1D- and 3D numerical simulations are conducted to check the hydraulic design of the storage cavern.
