Description

The efficient use of wind energy represents a future perspective to an environmentally friendly power generation in the energy industry. Particularly the significance of small wind power plants rises in areas with decentralized energy supply or for power generation in regions with great wind potential but poor accessibility. The usage of wind power stations, which is efficient and optimized on energy profit, depends on many factors, where the situation of the plant in the landscape relief, the locally attainable wind speeds, as well as the positioning of the individual wind power stations relative to each other play a decisive role. The aim of the comprehensive cooperation is to further develop a small wind energy converter for a number of special requirements. The plants should be operable in coastal areas, but also in mountainous or tropical regions. Corrosion resistance and sufficient material strength should ensure a low-maintenance long-time use. Furthermore, it should be possible to adapt the range of power capacity to the local wind conditions by simple modifications.
