Abstract
This paper presents a training course that aims to develop the competence to identify disinformation and fake news. Disinformation constitutes a huge problem in our world of digital media and digital communication. In particular, people with little understanding of problematic online content tend to share and distribute false information. The training course aims at educating these people, so that they stop sharing disinformation. The training course has been evaluated in a study with 36 participants regarding its learning effectiveness. In a pre- and post-test it could be verified that the participants increased their disinformation competence, especially those with initially low competence. Furthermore, the training course was rated very positively by all participants.
