Abstract
The actual status of the components of electrical
power supply is essential for a save and economical operation of
the power grids. Thereby the partial discharge (PD) diagnosis has
an important role for the AC grids. Also at the growing HVDC
technology the PD diagnosis get an important role in the
condition assessment of the involved components. The AC PD
measurement, procedure and especially the interpretation cannot
fully adapt to DC voltage. In this paper the previous findings of
investigations about the PD behaviour of some typical defects
under different artificial environment conditions and different
measuring procedures are summarized. To analyse the numerous
measured PD sequences a software tool called “PDDC-Analyzer”
was developed. With this tool the well-known DC PD graphs can
be shown and further new methods of DC PD pattern for defect
identification and risk assessment can be investigate. The
difference in the improved NoDi*-Pattern are shown and the
measurement procedure are discuss. At the end new methods and
aspects are introduced and a short overview about the further
requirements is given.
